For those interested the OCZ Vertex SSDs are now available on Newegg.

OCZ Vertex 250GB 64mb cache - $875
OCZ Vertex 120GB 64mb cache - $415
OCZ Vertex 60GB 32mb cache - $245
OCZ Vertex 30GB 32mb cache - $135

I myself am very tempted to pick up the 120GB drive, though I'll probably wait and save up a bit.

They have onboard cache: 250GB & 120GB models come with 64mb Cache while the 60GB & 30GB have 32mb Cache. Also these drives do not use J-Micron controllers, they use a new controller called Indilinx Barefoot.

The internal cache of the Vertex drives make them more usable on motherboard Raid controllers (like ICH9 or ICH10) as opposed to other MLC drives that do better with hardware Raid controllers like Perc 5/i.

From what I've heard the Vertex SSDs have read speeds close to the Intel X25-Ms but with much better writes.
