Own an 8800 GTX/GTS, or two. Post here! Have any questions, run into any problems? Post here! Find out something you think all the other GTX/GTS owners on the site should know, such as new drivers *cough* released the 8th *cough*, hacks (of the legal kind), crazy OC's. Post em here. Basically this thread is for everything 8800. However, its main purpose will be to create a list of all 8800 owners so that we have our own little support group. Being early adopters can suck, lets help eachother out!

I will do my best to keep this post updated with information on the most recent drivers, and hardware/software issues, and any fixes that are posted by members. Thanks alot guys, time to show off!

Also, be sure to post your overclocks in atomicfission92's overclock thread! It can be located here: http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/1362...oc-thread.html

Well here's an sli owner for you. Thanks for the help last night btw.Reinstalled the drivers and got a 15,606in 3dmark06.These card are very cpu dependent so I installed my x6800 and now I had to buy a tuniq tower (the zalman just doesnt have the nuts to push my pc anymore.).

What are average idle temps for the 8800gtx ? At first i was sitting at 70c/64c , then i put two 120mm 79cfm fans blowing cold air onto the cards then i got 59c/54c temps are gpu1 and gpu2.
Heres a single 8800GTX owner no problems right now but the video card is at stock.

Was at stock see OC thread for my overclock.
Im in for a single 8800GTX sandwhich, with a little C2D on the side

You can view the OC thread here
Can anyone get Splinter Cell Double Agent to run on their 8800GTX?

I have heard of everybody having problems with not only the game, but also the demo. However, I would try the newest drivers if you have not already. They were released last Friday, they can be found at the top of the thread. In the Release Notes they quoted Game and Application compatibility as one of the fixes.

My idle temps on the cards are 57/53, load temps after afew minutes of ATITool scan for artifacts are around 67/59. It should be noted that these temps are at stock clocks.

Anyways, yea I have heard alot of people are having problems with that game, I do not personally own it, but I know its been a blaming game between Ubisoft and Nvidia. which is just hurting the consumer in the end.
I have the newest drivers, 97.44

No such luck. Also tried w/o nTune.... same.

Count me in! This thing is beastly enough to land me the second fastest computer rank on OCN!

Many people like to run the fans on the 88oo GTX/GTS at 100% speeds 24/7. Obviously while this is a little noisier, it allows for much lower temps. Unfortunately N-Tune Currently has a bug that does not allow you to save your fan speed settings. Here is a work around. This work around requires that you have the most recent version of RivaTuner (v2, RC 16.2). The most current version of RivaTuner can be found here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=163 .

1. Download and install RivaTuner, run it once and allow it to build its registry.
2. Restart your computer. Please note this fix requires that you do not change the fan speed settings through Ntune at this time.
3. Open RivaTuner and navigate to the Low Level System Settings. (See picture one)
4. Check "Enable low-level fan Control"
5. Check "Fixed"
6. Move the Slider to 100% (Or whichever fan speed you choose)
7. Check Apply Fan Settings at Start Up.
8. Press Apply
9. Check Picture 2 for what the finished result should look like (This is for 100% fan speed.)
10. Restart Computer.

After step 10 your computer will be set up to run the video card fans at 100% upon start up. Hope this helps some people! If you have any questions or need help feel free to post.

I got 1 GTX
I've got myself a GTX! Not the best manufacturer, but heh, it's better than the GTS.
Okay found a new way to drop 7c off idle temps. First let me explain my setup,2 120mm 96cfm intake fans,1 120mm 96 cfm exhuast. So I took an extra 120mm fan and set it at the back of the case to blow air out my vga vent hole.So it is set to remove heat from the cards.I tried this with two fans and the results got worse.I also tested moving the fan further forward. This also gave bad results. My guess is to much airflow will disturb thecards intake charge .But a great exhuast flow towards the back of the cards keeps the heat from contaminating the intake charge.Anyways just wanted to put this out here.My idle temps with the fans on the cards set to 100% was 57c,know with the extra 120mm fan I idle at 50-51c.My sys temp is 34c,cpu temp 29c.Hope this helps.

Nicely done jrstang473. These cards to run a little warm! Im thinking of putting another fan or two in my case, but in doing so I cant really find a way that would be aesthetically pleasing. Yours looks nice though, but my CM Stacker 830 really prevents me from doing much modding. Either way, nice to know!

On another note. It seems that the most current drivers have not solved my issue I am having with lag ridden gameplay in SLI on NFS:MW. As such Im wondering if anyone else that has SLI could play this game and see if the video stutters at time for no apparent reason. In single card mode it plays great, in SLI though, stutters like mad. About to try the SLI profile... hopefully it will help.

EDIT: Well, tried out the SLI profile and I still get very bad stuttering issues. Im guessing that NFSMW is just one of those games that does not like SLI...
I dont have that game at the moment but I might be able to go get it and get back with you. I noticed another game I couldnt even get to start when i had my 7950's and that was Hitman Blood Money,Im gonna try it out with the 8800's and see if its the same.
On a side note why not just stick one 120mm fan in the lower corner of your case.Since you do have that fancy 4 fan bracket and all. After looking at your case It made me want one.But after thinking about how long it took me to hide wires and make sure NO wire was in direct airflow of an intake fan.I have no desire to change cases. But, im gonna go to home depot and buy another piece of plexiglass and make a new side panel for my case.To place fans where they need to be.
The actual case I have can be found here. http://store.nvidia.com/servlet/Cont...uctID=58708300
It is a custom CM Stacker 830 that I won at the Nvidia Reality Tour '06 (we played a bf2142 tourney). Unfortunatly, it sorta come OEM, it did not come with the fan brackets. This was because the custom nvidia cm stacker comes with a side window as opposed to the mesh grill. As such that 4 fan holder would obstruct the view on the insides. I personally would rather have the mesh and really nice air-flow. But im now one to look the gift horse in the mouth if you know what I mean.

I do not own the game but i remember a review for a 7950GX2 saying that Hitman was having problems with SLi and since the 7950 is basically SLi on a stick it had problems to. So i do not think you GTX's will help the situation unless a patch or new driver comes out.
