I think the very definition of ignorance makes it so that it is not recognized by the one who suffers from it.Everything is dangerous or causes cancer now. Kind of like a popular cliche that I appreciate, which is an obvious truth: "If you believe guns kill people, you must also believe that pencils misspell words, cars drive drunk and spoons make people fat." Getting out of bed every morning has potential to end in death. If you do it right everything will be fine. You could slip in the shower and break your neck, but that doesn't make it OK to never bathe because it's too dangerous.
Ignorance is only a problem when it is not recognized. Otherwise, it is a learning opportunity that can yield benefits that last for a lifetime for those willing to learn.
Otherwise it would be lack of knowledge, and you know the saying, the smartest thing one person can say is "I do not know", or something along those lines.
