Everything is dangerous or causes cancer now. Kind of like a popular cliche that I appreciate, which is an obvious truth: "If you believe guns kill people, you must also believe that pencils misspell words, cars drive drunk and spoons make people fat." Getting out of bed every morning has potential to end in death. If you do it right everything will be fine. You could slip in the shower and break your neck, but that doesn't make it OK to never bathe because it's too dangerous.

Ignorance is only a problem when it is not recognized. Otherwise, it is a learning opportunity that can yield benefits that last for a lifetime for those willing to learn.
I think the very definition of ignorance makes it so that it is not recognized by the one who suffers from it.
Otherwise it would be lack of knowledge, and you know the saying, the smartest thing one person can say is "I do not know", or something along those lines.

In the manual? Your are joking, right? :)
Oh right... we're talking about ASUS... the King of No Documentation, LOL. Sometimes I forget that EVGA was the only one that ever did anything right, and even then it was never 100%. Such a shame they have gone the way of the dodo bird. I don't know that I have ever looked at what is inside of an ASUS user guide other than looking for a Q-code table.

Try to break the tension in this thread by posting complete nonsense that makes a smile. lolol

My Nike overclocking boots from the StarWars planet Tatooine. Do believe Luke wore these exact boots.

In the foreground: take a look at that gorgeous waterblock in the silver and white ready for the Apex Z790 Vanilla.
Quantum magnitude? Which LGA version?

Yup. This update was so important that Asus offered proper Released notes. This so the tech webpages can tell the gamers that they have fixed the crashes. But don't expect this will be the new normal and offered in next released bios versions.

This new official bios version is the so called fix for game crashes.

"The update introduces the Intel Baseline Profile option, allowing users to revert to Intel factory default settings for basic functionality, lower power limits, and improving stability in certain games.

In short. No point flash it. And this new bios offer no value.

I know, right? Hey kids, let's all spend $700+ on a motherboard and $700~ on a CPU so we can run it stock! Sound like fun?

The gamers have asked for it. Now they got exactly what they wanted. But hey.... Maybe cooler manufacturers get a boost in sales of Tower air coolers now. When it rains on the priest, it dribbles on the bellringer ... 😆

Edit. Intel have probably forced the MB manufacturers to change settings in bios. They don't do it by themself.

That's the EK LGA1700 Full NIckel with natural aluminum frame in the photo, for the Z790 Apex Vanilla.

Also have the EK LGA1700 Satin Titanium quantum magnitude with black frame ready to install on the Z790 Encore build. Can never have enough APEX! :giggle:

Sooooo the 2002 BIOS seems to be the last "good" BIOS then.

EK-Quantum Magnitude - 1700 Full Nickel

The EK-Quantum Magnitude is the new ultimate bespoke CPU water block from EK® that brings the highest cooling performance with the lowest possible flow restriction. The 1700 version of the water block is using a specific combination of flow distribution insert, mounting pressure, and cold plate...

I have the LGA115X version, from EK they told me that the cold plate is compatible with LGA1700 but from an impression and a check with a ruler it appears convex, I should replace it with the cold plate flat

When running Cinnebench R23 with real time priority, my mouse pointer is very unresponsive.

Does this also happen to you guys, or only me?
Yes, that is normal. No need for concern. Real-time means Cinebench gets all system resources and there is little or nothing left for other applications to function. I would even suspect a problem if that did not happen because it would mean that real-time priority is not functioning correctly.

@Falkentyne @safedisk @shamino1978 why on the “intel baseline profile” iccmax is 280 instead of 307/400A like on the datasheet from intel?
This is the datasheet iccmax information

in the datasheet iccmax has the same max amperage as iccmax.app Resource & Documentation Center processors-datasheet-volume-1-of-2/002/vcccore-dc-specifications/
