I figured I would start the GTX 1060 Club since it hasn't been started yet.

I myself just got a ASUS GTX 1060 Turbo 6GB today and am quite happy with it.

Will we get cool signature tags n stuff? Rocking one made by ASUS, over-engineered, over-priced - you name it, but hey it works.

I wanna join the club too, got an EVGA GTX1060 SC.

I'm shortly gonna be watercooling it with an EK Thermosphere.
That might sound daft since temps are high 50's or low 60's typically, but I already have a custom loop set up with 3 radiators, and theres no airflow in my case, so the temps shoot up to low 70s when I close up the case.
Also for aesthetics, will look better if its part of the loop too.

Have an EVGA SC myself. Very pleased with it after flashing the new BIOS which adds the 0dB mode at idle and relaxes the fan curve so that it's silent under load. Out of the box it's a little loud as the fan's minimum speed is set at 45% even for manual adjustment. The gentler fan curve does result in temperatures rising to the mid-70s under load, but that's perfectly fine for me. Could always set a more aggressive custom curve if I felt like it to get it back down closer to 60 like it is out of the box and still enjoy the fan stopping at idle.

Overclocks very well too. Mine did 1999MHz out of the box and sits at 2101MHz under extended load after overclocking. Also brought the memory up to 9GHz without issue. Not bad for such a tiny card.

Hey all,

I will need a bit of advice in regard to OCing Nvidia cards since the last one I did is kind of dated.
I have to say the Nvidia control panel is well rather basic compared to AMD. No OC either which could be hacked in for older NVCP.

Where can I disable gforce experience starting on launch? Or do I have to forcibly remove it in autorun manually?
Does MSI AB, EVGA Precission, Gainward what it is, support GTX 1060s for OC, voltage, power, fan changes? I guess there is no way to get that back in NVCP directly anymore.

What's up with Nvidia inspector and those kind of tools people often seem to be using? Kind of to force settings into applications that can't be done in NVCP?

Vibrance at 50% default should be neutral and no change done by Nvidia right?

I have Gainward GTX 1060 6GB version. Card seems decently built but not whine free completely at least not in Heaven. Got the usual Pascal artifacts in Heaven so far and the DPC latency is "garbage" even on latest driver compared to Intel and AMD GPUs.
GPU runs about 74C max, fans at 1800rpm but I guess acceptably quiet due to their smaller size.

Card seems reasonably efficient and dumps much less heat than R9 280x did. On the other hand it runs at the same temperatures and faster fan speeds or similar if fan size is compared 90mm vs 100m maybe.
It does stop fans at low load, right now 37C web browsing. Heatsink seems to be a single piece which cools everthing, GPU, VRAM, VRM and as such transfers heat from GPU to VRAM IMHO. The shroud is plastic and touches a heatpipe at the bottom/slot side, will see how that goes for the plastic.

Very nice, yeah I hear pretty much all 1060's will be able to get to 2000mhz without any problems. I'm glad EVGA added that new BIOS in the forums the 0db is awesome, I wish mine had 0db but mine is using a blower.

When you install the driver choose custom and un-check everything except Driver, HDMI Audio and PhysX this is what I do, I never use GeForce Experience. I never OC my video cards but if i did I would probably use PrecisionX. Yes Vibrance at 50% is the default I believe and I would leave it there.

Its really good, its a nice 100% faster than my GTX580.

In farcry 4, I still get some dips below 60fps and sometimes the motion doesn't look that smooth (like when in a car) even though the fps is still 60 (I use vsync).

I think its cause the game is badly optimised, thats what I've heard.

It holds that continuously or just well starts at 2164 but then drops to 2100 when GPU warms up etc.?

The new GPU boost 3.0 and boosting above boost clock is bad IMHO for OCing. It just does what ever the heck it wants and one can't limit the clock, it's more like hey could you run at this clock? And then it goes and runs 100MHz+ randomly picking a frequency based on mood.
