I haven't had an original Phantom for a couple of years now. However, I do have a S810 and the 820 came last night. So far, I'm very impressed with the chassis. It's very sturdy, the top panel is very rigid and any worries about the front door (which was retooled, and is nothing like the 410's door) is really well made. There are a total of 3 200mm fans, and 3 200mm filters. The front one one mine doesn't have a filter. I'll be removing all except the front one.

I'll also be making a panel for the 5.25 bays with a custom mount for my aquaero unit.

I'll post pics of the 810 vs the 820 here in a few days. The 820 is a bit larger, but not by too much.

The 820 slightly bigger than the Switch? I don't think the switch side panel will fit the new phantom
It will. The main changes are going to be in height and depth (because of the top and front panels). There's a few changes of the S810 that I think are great:

The top was tooled to allow for radiators with funky fan spacing. The top radiator now sits further back in the chassis which allows for better airflow to the front most part of the radiator (360 radiator). The bottom supports 240 and 280 radiators natively now, and there's a large fan filter below to make sure your rad stays dust free. There's a lot to the new girl in town.

Spent most of the day sleeving and sleeping. Rough week between school with midterms, life, and work. It's 230 am and I just woke up. Project has been fun so far and I'll start my buildlog in the morning. Just waiting on some watercooling gear and have to get some metal work done tomorrow.... Err, today

It's kinda like having to have it front of me to stare at for a while and then take it apart some to see what it calls out for or what it inspires.

It involves both a white and a gunmetal 820, (with a little interchanging of plastic parts, side panels & optical drive cages, to get a cool 2 tone complimentary color scheme going) and 2 white and 2 gunmetal, plain 810 sidepanels to create custom windows in for both sides, and gold tinted mirror acrylic for matching PSU covers and accent pieces for each.

And reverse atx'ing one of them so they'd look like complimentary bookends . . .

So I'd need two 820's and four 810 back side panels . . . . A couple of the 6 slider fan controllers would be nice too with a pair of 1000W PSUs

And since I ordered 3 Asus Matrix 7970's last week to finish up my tri-fire, switch 810 build, the timing is perfect for my next mega build. . . . . . . . . . . " Diva 820, Special Editions "

OCN's only post menopausal modder,

Darlene
