I use TM5....the basic config is for three passes. I do at least 5.(You can find that on 1usmus' profile under the About Me tab)

Then I use the Karhu Memtest(paid test)....that needs to run to like 6400%. It will find errors pretty quick.

Also HCI Pro(paid version). I open it using a Powershell script, it sets the amount of memory and starts each thread and spaces them on my screen so I don't have to mess around with it.

Oh no. I had hoped for switches. I don't like gigabytes dual bios without switches. It has a habit of just switching itself without notification. Well only one way to find out I guess.

It doesn't bother me I was using a Gigabyte board for a couple of months away from 10 years with auto switching dual bios and never had any issues with it switching even once.

I doubt this will be stable but it even boots at 1900mhz on the infinity fabric wow, i guess this 3700X isn't so bad, i generally have bad luck when it comes to Amd. Edit

Also Windows 10 is still very slow when you run out of memory lol and i have my page file on my NVME drive.

I can't get my 3700X to boot at 1900 on the IF....I can get the RAM to boot at 4000....but can't get 3800/1900 stable. I'm running [email protected] with 16-17-14-30 stable though. 3600 is a bit faster, but takes more voltage....so I'm happy with 3666. In what I've tested...I didn't see much gain in gaming with 3600-3666 really.

Not sure what it is windows might be doing it but after like 1000% coverage on all cores memtest just pauses for like 3min and then it continues with no errors does anyone else notice this i'm using memtest inside of ryzen calculator

It doesn't bother me I was using a Gigabyte board for a couple of months away from 10 years with auto switching dual bios and never had any issues with it switching even once.

In my Pro i just have the same firmware in both bios and a usb stick where i save any change i do in bios. If it stuck and start from the 2nd bios i load the config and i undo the last change and save again and continue.
Even if there was a switch i would had open the case, take out something to reach the switches. For me it's better like this except if the switches were outside my case.

Okay so I got my Ryzen 9 3950X yesterday, not as good a overclocker as my 3900X but hey with the extra 4 cores and 8 threads I'm not going to complain. Interestingly this cpu runs cooler than my 3900X using the same vcore.

I would try overclocking per ccx no way would i even think for one second that all 16 cores would be good at overclocking lol.

I'll give it a shot, do so from the bios or using the software tool, not Ryzen Master, cannot stand that resource hog.

I actually have a question regarding the 3950X how do all the CPU cores boost? Do they all hit the max boost or is Amd still binning these too and giving threadripper the best chiplets

Checking a look here it looks like Amd is still binning these chiplets for one good chiplet and one that isn't as good.

Hey man, I have never ran this processor PBO or stock so cannot comment on that. I'll give it a go later and let you know. From what I've seen in Ryzen Master, Core 1 and Core 16 are the golden star cores.

Nice temp, too. My HWINFO does not show anymore temp for the RAM. It used too and prolly cos of a recent BIOS update.

As far as voltage consumed vs heat that needs to be dissipated I really don't know what the exact ratio is... it's not a direct 1:1 ratio but as far as the exact ratio, I'm not sure anyone really knows for sure what it is. I have read several articles on it and have visited several tech blogs that deal with it and opinions are all over the place.

I doubt very much the ratio is as such, that significant wattage consumed by CPU, ends up anywhere else but being dissipated through CPU.

As stated before 65W AMD TDP rated parts on AM4 can pull up to 88W before they hit PPT limit.

88W-65W=23W, (23/65)x100=~35% or (23/88)x100=~26%, whichever calc I look at I just can't think to myself ~25% or more watts consumed by CPU end up being transferred to any where else to be dissipated.

IF is in use always AFAIK. This wiki link has not been updated for IF2 which Zen2 uses.

This post has some info on the 3x R9 3900 I've recently had, R9 3950X is not gonna be much different IMO on variability. Threadripper 3 uses differing dies to Ryzen 3000, The Stilt has posted about it here and on reddit recently, then I've seen user shares showing less variability on each cores MHz vs say R9 3900/50X.

3600 Temp

Hi guys, I have just built a new system with a ryzen 3600, a msi MPG x570 gaming pro motherboard and a artic freezer 34 esport duo cpu cooler.
I have run a 15min of Prime95 stress test with default settings (no OC) and I reached 72°
Idle I'm around 32°
Do you think is a reasonable temp under prime 95?
