And another rad.

I have 2 questions.

1. Can a 120mm black ice radiatior with 2x GT 1400 rpms handle a q9650, 1.4 volts (I would probably go lower than this voltage, like 1.32-1.36).

2. Can 4x pull gt 1400s on a black ice xtreme 480mm radiator handle 3x gtx 280s , and motherboard?

What temps should I expect from the cpu?

It should be fine, but why 1400rpms? wait for 1850 rpms to come in stock since the price difference between the two are slim/none depending on where u get them

Do you need thinner fans, or are you just looking for quiet ones?

Im looking for Quite and effective. Right now I run everything on the same loop, including cpu, and my gpu's remain pretty cool even under load. I am running 8x ultra kaze tho, at half strength.

Ill take some temp readings to give you guys an idea.

Thats with the q9650 on the same loop.

What sort of temps should I expect with q9650 on its own loop with a single 120mm black ice, 1 gt 1400-1800 rpm?

Right now i am getting high 30s under idle, and low 60s under load(p95). I think these are too high right?

I went with the crazy 3000rpms before. Now its about noise level for me.

My computer is louder than my wifes vacuum cleaner.

Otherwise the Gentle Typhoons would be the next best in my opinion.
I would beg to differ. Gentle Typhoons are as good as they get for radiators.

price/performance outshines the noctua's.

also, the 1850 rpm ones are pretty quiet. you can invest in either a fan controller or use your motherboard headers to control fan speed.

I already have fan controllers. Thinking about getting a gt 4250. Good?

now the high speed gentle typhoons are iffy.

Im not sure how they are with a fan controller, havent had to time to buy/test them, but i know ap-15's with a fan controller would be a solid choice.

the black ice gtx radiators are ones that will work best with high speed fans.

look here for some tests.
