Have you looked at buying a heater core from Napa, Autotown, etc. I think they are like $20 or so. I don't think that is an area you want to skimp on. You could make a shroud, pick up four fans, and have it done for $35. Looking at doing this myself. Good luck.

oh trust me, i have looked into this since i first created the idea of a W/C system. the reason i was thinking about the junkyard is that i saw a transmission cooler in summit mag, that looked extreamly promising. for now im still sticking with the pa120.2(the .3 is really hard to find). I have actually hit a road block though on pump selection. what i mean is the danger den dd d5 doesnt look as good as the swiftech mcp665. Anyone ever heard of Eheim? i found one of their pumps that uses a wall outlet, but runs a nice 600 gph.

Don't get me wrong--if one has the space, I think there is little downside to having a huge radiator. I was just concerned with getting it cleaned.

I thought so too, but tranny coolers are about the same width as a 120mm fan 240 mm long. its reletively small.

Has anyone tried just using a full size radiator? I'm wondering if that would keep water temps so close to ambient it would become a non-issue, with performance limited only by waterblock and pump. And it might even work with no fans...

Oh yes many have, and might i add with success. But anyways i found a 77 bonn at a good price as posted up top.Its shroud buildin time.
