I'm under the impression that the average 970 graphics score is around 13,000...Did I just get a bad card or am I missing something that'll allow me to get a better score? I noticed my gpu fan never went above 70% so maybe it's not being pushed to its limit?

Yea your CPU is holding you back a little. OC your CPU and disable on-board graphics then give it another try.

13000? That'd be a long way above average. Your score is about on par for the gear and clocks listed there. Check out the single gpu benchmark threads on OCN.

Well the overall score improved slightly after overclocking to 4.3 Ghz, which is to be expected. But the graphics score is still the same.

Are you guys sure 10,000 is to be expected? Everywhere I've looked has 13,000 as the average. This dude has a similar computer to mine and is getting 13,733: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/4090282

If you look at his GPU clock speed his is 200 mhz higher than yours and has the memory clocked higher than yours. Bump your GPU clock and memory up, she still has more room to go.
