Besides buying the combo of this processor and the mobo in my signature and trying if it works myself, is there anyone out there who definitly knows that this cpu would work on this mobo?

And I still can't find anything about them, really frustrating. There must have been some people who overclocked this puppy! On the other hand with a x9 multi I might need a better mobo because the M2R32 only goes up to about 305 FSB.

well so far i havnt had very good luck with anything am2, but ive only tried it on phase because ive got my am2 rig setup like that so far, but ive tried a 3800 and 1210 and neither has given me anything, however i am beginning to think its my mobo becauase alot of other people have gotten really good ocs with this mobo,

yeah i couldnt find anything on the web either, and theres not amny people here with am2 i dont think, from what ive heard the 4800 is your best bet if you can get one of those, whats his name here has one at 3.1 on air i think

That's too expensive, my choises are:

X2 3800: €149
X2 3800 65w: €154
Opteron 1210: €169

I don't want anything over €170.

Wouldn't the 65w be a better quality chip since it can be undervolted?

um actually ive read that the lower watt ones were not gettting any higher oc's then there counterparts and sometimes were getting less, my past experience with lower watt versions is they do pretty good with less voltage but once you start upping the voltage they dont do any better

however its still a matter of stepping

Hmm yeah but still, wouldn't the 65w version have a better stepping since it's a "higher" quality chip?

Wonder if the Opteron 1210 would hit 3.0Ghz on the other hand...

65w CPUs won't provide any better OCing over their 89w version

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...hlight=opteron
