With the Asus A8N Mb there are some issues which limit it's OC capability.

1. CPC 1T will not be stable above 240 so best to leave this at 2T which is the Default

2. The way to manually OC this MB is not always straight forward such as MaxMem for the Mem divider - check out the FAQ on this MB to help you further.

3. The Max Speed for these MBs is around 315 as at 320 the PCIe bus drops the SATA controller.

4. Max Vcore is 1.55v so this will limit most CPU OC

5. Max Vdimm is 3.0v so BH/UTT modules will not do well in this MB at tight lat.

With your CPU the X9 multi is a challenge and so you really need high bus speeds, 270-300+, to get the best from these chips.

It would seem that you have already maxed out the Asus MB if running 310x9... so should there be more legs in the CPU then you will need to change to a MB that can run higher speeds, such as a DFI and you will see more performance from the same CPU / memory.

I do believe that you have misread between the two Sigs ... my Opteron is a 146 ... read about it here
