4 of those is somewhat excessive, you don't need that much out of the fans to exploit the empty mounts. Also yes, 38mm fans will all fit in all open positions. I'd just outfit the vacant mounts with some S-Flexes or low-speed Panaflos.

The only reason I want those is because I am going to be folding 24/7 on my gpu

You'll have all the airflow you need with S-Flexes/Panaflos, trust me. Having those plastic hurricanes won't improve things by more than a few degrees, especially if you use that external GPU box. Just go with lower-speed fans.

How's 4 of those sound? Very good fans, each one comes with a resistor to force the speed down.

Excellent choice, that'll do just as well as the ZM-F3.
