Ok so I've had enough with waiting for the Fractal Cases and decided to go with a HAF 912 ... for now. This rig is my end of school year celebration haha.

The Rig in question is in my sig (everything, but the Accelero and the ATH-AD700), and the cost will be $1692 after taxes on NCIX with pricemating and shipping - but I might go pick it up which will save me $50. Also includes other things not mentioned in the sig rig like extra fans, and a microphone. Also I have about $70 worth of MIR too. So it would cost over $300 more to order an equivalent rig on newegg.

I plan on getting another HD6950, another 4GB of RAM, a Das Ultimate Keyboard, and an SSD, maybe a Fractal Design Arc Midi in the future, and perhaps some better fans for the Antec Kuhler if I find the cooling isn't sufficient. This will probably be later on in the summer. If I end up painting and modding the 912 I probably wont get the Arc Midi.

Just want to get a last opinion, or OK from fellow OCNers although I'm pretty confident I've put together the best quality rig for the price.

Thanks

On a 23" monitor with everything maxed out? If that's the case I might as well get a UD3P and a X-560... Would save me a bit of money.

Monitor size doesn't matter. Resolution does. 1920x1080 is as high as monitors that size go, and Crossfire 6950s are way to much. There are maybe 3 games that a 6950 can't max out @ that resolution (no counting AA,AF).

Right. I will be playing at 1920x1080, so should i geta UD3P and a X-560 instead?

My old rig had a single 5770 and it played BFBC2 pretty damn well. I'm guessing after I unlock the shaders and OC the 6950 i'll be able to max out everything no problem?

"Max out" is a big word.

The first and second chart differ in 10fps by the 6970 (which is like a 6950 unlocked) and the difference is that AA is up by 3x. Without AA & AF (which don't really add any graphical effects) a 6950 unlocked can max everything out.

EDIT: Unlocking + OCing might be a little too much. The power draw of a OCed 6970 with is a little too much perhaps.

Hm. I appreciate the input, but I think I'm going to stick with my initial build to keep my options open. Really id only be saving around $60-70 if I went with the UD3P and X-560, I think an extra $70 for a more "future-proofed" rig is worth it... I realize the term future proofed is somewhat ridiculous in this world
