There is a version of OS X that does run on a pc, my friend tried it but couldn't get it to work successfully. I'm pretty sure the OS X and windows xp dual boot only works on intel macs.

I can tell you that it is _possible_ to run OS X on a cpu much like mine. I assume yours has SSE3, so it should be possible for you, too.

Even if it doesn't have SSE2 it would be probably be *possible*. I'm going to tell you not to install it though...legal reasons say it's a no-no.

OSX requires SSE1 and SSE2, SSE3 is not neccesary but it might pitch a fit/perform very slowly if you don't have it.

So yes, it is possible for you to install OSX on your system.

This is NOT illegal as long as you own a license to Mac OSX. As in go buy it at the store.:
again not asking for links, and if anybodys wondering I found a confirming site and it is as Chipp says, sse1 and sse2 are necessary but sse3 needs a few extra configurations. I should be done tomorrow, won't say anything more for the legality of this subject

I'd have had OSX on my system long ago if I had SSE2...

ok, so i know you can do it if you get a mac os image that has the proper patches (hint: JaS) it will have the amd patches as well, yes you can dual boot with windows but you will need the acronis disk director suite, and i would check out the osx86project for more info

I tried to dual boot on my x2 3800 and it worked but just...not well. Its really buggy and things, if I were you I'd stray away from it, especially if you have an amd. I would save up for a mini mac, thats what I did and I love it

my understanding was that it is necessary to hack the kernel, which is legally protected - making the process illegal

no it isnt necessary to hack the kernel, it is legal well not "legal" its in the gray area between the two, just like money said only if you go to the store and BUY it
