I overclocked my 930 to 3.8Ghz with HT off and ran P95 for 16 hours, still stable. My temps are 70c and don't go above. If I were to put HT on would this cause my overclock to go unstable? I didn't run P95 with HT on because my temps are just way to high, but I know that I will never run 100% on all cores for 16 hours.

really? I was at 82C fully stressed on P95 with HT on. I was just nervous I would mess my chip up somehow with these temps

85C is normal while p95, normal usage will never reach that high. Max temp is 100C, don't go over 85C in general just for stability and lifespan of your chip

Ah! This is great news, I thought I was limited on overclocking my chip, I guess I'll have to put it back up to 4Ghz and see what happens

I just set everything up, 21x191 for 4Ghz and put HT back on. I wanna run a LinX test to see if its stable now just for the time being, I'll probably run P95 over night then too. What settings would be best for LinX?

Well after those settings I ran P95 for the night and BSOD. The error code is 0x0000003B. Should I up my vCore?

hm, well I guess I'm just talking to myself right now....But anyway, I go the BSOD after 4 hours of P95 error code 0x3b. My settings were at:

CPU ratio: x21
QPI ratio: x36
Uncore Ratio: x16
Bclk: 191
XMP: disabled
Memory multi: 8
LLC: standard
vCore: 1.28125
QPI/VTT 1.3
PLL: auto
PCIE: auto
QPI PLL: auto
IOH: auto
ICH: auto
DRAM: 1.66
turbo boost disabled
C1E disabled
C3/C6/C7 enabled
CPU EIST disabled

Should I bump up the vCore?

the code usually is an indication of unstable vcore, but 1.28125 is already quite high for 4ghz
I need 1.315 for QPI on my board and previous x58 ud3r, I have seen x58a ud3r using way lower QPI voltage for 191blck 1600mhz ram, usually around 1.25v. I think you should adjust your QPI instead, alternatively go with by the error code and bump vcore.

3B is more Vcore
All Chips are different, i need 1.312v under load for stable 4Ghz.
Also QPI/Vtt needs to be in the 1.25v-1.35v range.

I set my LLC to Level 2 on my board and it passed two LinX tests. I'm going to run P95 for the rest of the night. I'm goign to disable c3/c6/c7 when I do this. Do you think my QPI really should be lowered? I raised my vCore a notch too
