Hi please help me I have a Q9550 amd msi G43tm-e51ddr2 with 8gb ddr2 800 ram it is running at 2.83ghz stock tried to oc it but I won't go past 2.92ghz I would like to oc it at least to 3.1/2ghz I'm using a foxcon cpu cooler temps are below 60 as they are always 58° or 45° when I'm not gaming

I did update the bios nothing has changed only the boot up screen as it's showing the mobo name but I still don't have the oc option instead I have cell menu
If I adjust cpu fsb to 343 it doesn't boot up I've tried it with all dram ratio it doesn't boot

You have to manually set your CPU voltage, and at least another voltage, since many things are dependent on the FSB clock that you are playing with.
I suggest keeping your ram speeds equal or less than the 800mhz they are meant to work on, as overclocking ram will not benefit you so much

As for voltages, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, but I think up to 1.4V is safe for that CPU, usually people would use 1.3V for daily, and 1.35V as a safe max daily.
However, since your CPU is kinda old, maybe drive it with a lot of voltage so you can have a high clock and get the rest of life from it.
I think the other voltage you have to play with is the NB voltage.

set FSB/DRAM ratio to 1:2 that's what's holding you back

NB voltage to 1.3 and vtt to 1.28.

then you should be able to get your cpu up in some more fsb

multip x8 - x8,5 it is to 400+ fsb on cpu ,then you need to play with vcore 1.15 to 1.25v
