Overclocking "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670"

Hello,

Recently, I have bought "Dell Studio XPS 16" computer with "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670" (1GB) video card. I would like you to ask how to overclock my computer or video card for better "FPS" in games?

Thank you in advance.

Overclocking laptops is not recommended since it'll create too much heat for the laptop than it already produces. Most laptops, if not, all, will not allow you to overclock through BIOS since the manufacturer "locks" it.

There are other methods however, to overclock your CPU/GPU, which is though software.
And what are those methods?

I wouldn't OC the thing.

my Asus X83VP has that same GPU
I tested to see how the heatsink fares (link to the thread). At stock, the thing hits 105C in 2 minutes. I still have yet to find the published thermal limits so I stopped the test right there.

mind you, this is at stock clocks. OC'ing will only run it hotter.

and the heatsink + fan on the Studio XPS 16 is roughly the same (smaller blower fan) as my Asus.
I personally wouldn't overclock it if I were you.
So maybe somebody knows how to config "Catalyst" or other "Windows 7 Ultimate" settings for best gaming?
