I wouldn't say I'm new to overclocking but I've never overclocked my RAM before. On my old mobo I simply unlinked my CPU and RAM and got 3.5Ghz on my E5200.

Recently I got a new motherboard and you can't unlink them so by changing the ram ratio a little I can get 3.0ghz with stock 800mhz ram but any higher and I must overclock the ram I assume.

I can do this but my question is if I used LinX and selected all RAM would it test the RAM thoroughly or would you recommend another program for testing ram?

I was going to just run my usual 200 runs of LinX which takes around 2 hours 30mins ish maybe longer and consider it stable and then do the same with Intel Burn test.

Thanks

Memtest86+ before booting into Windows, to make sure settings aren't so off that you corrupt your install.

From there, HCI Memtest for several hundred percent.

Then move on to whatever your traditional testing methods are.
