Ive recently installed my 128mb 6800GT, and when i go into my clock frequency settings, manual overclock etc. i pump up the settings and i run the test settings button and everything passes fine and dandy. I then go and open a game that i play called world of warcraft( im not sure of how many of u are familiar with it but its what i do.) and i see green patches all over, which are not supposed to be there by the way and the game constantly locks up unless i turn my graphics settings down. Any ideas on what the problem may be?

Your clocks are too high. Try moving them down slightly and keep testing until you find a stable setting. Also, consider aftermarket cooling, such as the Zalman VF700cu if your card is hot, as this might help you get a bit of extra performance.
