i have my 3500+ sitting pretty at 2.7ghz with these settings
FSB = 300
Multi = 9
HTT Multi 3x
Ram on a 133 divider running at 200mhz
1.5volts on the cpu
1.7 volts on the chipset
2.7 volts on the ram

i am testing out the 300FSB being against my old overclock which was
FSB 260
Multi 10.5
HTT Multi 4x
Ram divider 166 which would run at 215 mhz
1.5 volts on the cpu
1.7 volts on the chipset
2.8 volts on the ram

my chipset seems to get warm, i put a little fan on it. But it still gets warm I might pull it off today and replace the thermal material with as5 and see what happens.

Good Luck

depends on your motherboard. look for memory settings or dram settings . then look for 400/266/133/100 ect those are your dividers.

ok, probably you will need to up your voltage a bit, try 1.5 volts .. also you can bring your HTT FREQ up a notch if your on 3xs you can bring it back up to 4. i seen your HTT was around 700mhz .. you want to keep it under 1080. and try 10.5 multi try 258 fsb x 10.5 which will give you 2.7ghz and try your ram at 166

Depenadan on yout HSF you may need more vcore, keep the full load temp around 50c or below!
Some things to consider...
1. Your 420w PS may not be up to the task.
2. Have you upped the mem controler voltage?
3. Have you upped the RAMs voltage any and if we knew what RAM you had more could be said. Add it to your System Specs.
4. In part #3 re: the FHS.

RAM that sucks will kill your overall overclock of your system. but if you want to see just wat your processor can do, then just drop your divider to 133 and start toying around w/ it. a good setting for you would probably be 260 x 10 @ ~ 1.5v (1.55v if you can). maybe there's a percentage increaser or something in your bios. i know in mine the max normal vcore is 1.4, then you can increase it by percentages.

That MB can have amind of it's own if not all BIOS options are set correctly.

Dropping the RAM down manually to 333 is very common to allow head room for the CPU's OCing.
Do you have a screen shot of CPU-Z "SPD" tab?

don't shrink it can't read it.

and now if you got to 2.6 Ghz, all you have to do is run superpi a few times and then run a few hours of prime95 (always best to run 24 hours to make sure you're stable). if you're not stable your computer will either A) lock up or B) randomly restart
