Overclocking on 1156 with power saving enabled

One of the main reasons I switched to i5 from my AMD rig was because of the impressive power saving features... I have a small computer room that heats up really fast, and any help in bringing the temps down is welcome.

Now from what I've been reading, it seems that 1156 has severe stability issues with power saving features enabled on OC'ed chips.

If I turn power saving off, it pretty much completely defeats the purpose of switching over to i5 from my AM3 setup, which had no problem at all running CnQ with the CPU OC'ed to 3.8Ghz.

Experience? Suggestions?

This is what is called an OxiMoron. Its like I want to get the best time on the track but I want to engage the parking brake while im doing it.
It's more like having a fast daily driver. You might want it to be fast when you take it to the drag strip, but don't need that power all the time.
I say try it. Try to get it to go as far as you can with it enabled and still have it stable. People said the same thing about speedstep, but Ive never had a problem leaving it enabled. I dont have an i7 of course, but mine is constantly fluctuating between 3.6 and 2.4ghz. If you cant get it stable with it enabled you just have to decide what you want to do... Disable it completely or settle for a lower overclock.

Actually it's more like like taking a leisurely drive around town in first gear red-lined.

Anyways, on topic, I'm at 3.25Ghz stable right now, slowly inching my way up.
