Saw the huge thread here on overclocking this mobo, had a couple of questions before I dive in...

First, I gave the AI Suite 2 a shot, and it reports Im running my i5-2500k at 4.58gHz- but in CPU-Z sometimes it shows this number and sometimes it shows 1665.2 in the Core Speed textbox (most of the time in fact).

What is up with that? Does the AI suite do some sort of 'fake' overclock or does it basically do what I would do in the bios- just automatically? Or maybe CPU-z is just a bit wonky?

Because if I'm at 4.58 stable and it took about 5 minutes, that works for me.

Also, what is the best software for load/burn testing these days? I used to use orthos, and prime95, but that was a couple of years back.

Thanks!

speedstep is enabled so you see it default to 1600mhz when not loaded. use prime95 with blend to stress test system for stability . i dont trust ai suite for overclocking it is always better to do it from bios
