Well, without vampire clips, an interposer and a memory bus analyzer.. Not sure what to say with a beta board

It's an nForce 4 chipset.........you can't expect too much of them.

For overclocking, the chipset is horrible, limited and have to be tweaked several times till you finally get it to work.

Want to overclock? Set the Multi to x14 and the fsb to 200 and start from there, because afaik the chipset is so fsb limited it's pathetic, I belive the limit stable is somewhere in the 235 and a miracle to get to 260, except your CPU works but it may be stressing the chipset.

Have you tried raiseing your PCI Express clocks above there default "Auto" or "100" setting?

I have no experience with this actual board myself but I'm still very tempted to choose it as my next board when I move onto SLi and add a second 7800 GTX.

As the others have said, it seems that this board can't cope with FSB's higher than 235. That may explain why you're having a broblem with your 955 EE as it's default is 266 or 266.5.

I've just had a browse through previous posts and sure enough, there are a few posts from people with problems raising their FSB's over 235 or 240.

Aside from raising the PCI Express frequency all I can suggest is try different motherboard BIOS's. Though right now I'm thinking that adjusting the PCI Express clock is the most lily to work.

I have my Pentium 4 650 (FSB200) overclocked to 4.0GHz (FSB235) and I currently have my PCI Express frequency set to 115. I expect that you may need to set yours to somewhere around 120 or 130.

no
i will let you no about the sli. got two 7800gtx but no video drivers yet(lazy). i am going to put a 840 not ee in and try to break it so well see whats up. i am going to put the 955 in a intel 975 chipset board that just knoked on my door. asus has finaly let me down. i guess peole havein probs with the 2 lane 16x only getting 8x and stuff.
i can get the fsb to about 1100 and be good that 3.57ghz. i might try the multiplyers as this chip has them unlocked, just have to find it in the bios which is diffacult to nav i think.
i can use any other bios version cause this is the only one that makes the 955 post at all.
wish me luck be back with ya in 2 hour.
