Hi everyone,

My Z800 is having the infamous problem where it won't power on and boot. Sometimes it would power on and stay on since it had this problem. It got gradually worse over time. A few days on, a few days off. I left it alone for months and am waiting to see if it comes back to life at all. Its comprehensive diagnostics came back perfect. Supposedly it's a motherboard problem. LGA 1366. If I could overclock this thing to around 4 ghz or higher without too much trouble, I guess it would make sense to spend $150 for a new mobo and whatever the repair guy charges. Then I guess I need something besides the stock cooler? There was a Noctua i4 for $60 that says it's made for a 1366 Xeon. Everything is stock on my Z800. It was an off-lease from ebay. Two x5670 chips. 48 gigs of ram I think. Mainly using it for audio work in Pro Tools. Thanks for any information.
