Strange issue here guys. My ram is OCZ Platinum DDR2-1000. They currently run at 800mhz but can be set to 1066mhz (overclocked). Since I just bought the parts, I don't want to overclock, I just want to get the ram to its rightful speed. I just learned about this FSB strap and I decided to test it out. Go into my bios and set FSB Strap to 266 and then DDR2 ram to 1000mhz.
When I choose to boot XP Pro x64 edition the computer will say "NTLDR is corrupt. The system cannot boot". When I choose to boot 7 beta 7000 x86, the system just reboots. I set the settings back to the original and everything is working again, no reboot and no NTLDR issue.
Any suggestions on how I can get the 1000mhz from my ram?
