Hey guys,

Maybe you can offer some help. I have a P6T7 WS that works with my i7 950, W3550 but not X5560, not X5650, not X5690

When I turn on the computer with any x class xeon, the blue led starts to flash immediately and it never boots. Can someone please please please help me.

What BIOS version are you on, none of those CPU's are supported until BIOS 0811 and later. Is the X5650 retail or ES/QC/Confidential, it has different CPUID/microcode than the retail?
I checked BIOS, all those CPU's microcodes are in the BIOS (106A5 and 206C2 / 206C0 if ES X5650), but they are old codes 2009/2010, current 2018 codes are available.
It should be posting with the old microcodes in there though, as long as BIOS is 0811 or newer

And xenkw0n is right about the memory multi too, set that to x10 or x8 before you put in the Xeon CPU.
If stuck with higher multi while trying later, sometimes board or BIOS will allow higher but shouldn't with these, you'll have to clear CMOS to get system back on track.

Always start with cleared CMOS and then loading optimal defaults in the BIOS after you put in new CPU.

I had this issue with mine. However I was able to use the X5680 in it.

Here is modified BIOS for you, latest version 1001 w/ all updated microcodes (2018 versions for the CPUID's being discussed)

Thank you for the notice! Editing post now, new link added w/ two hosts. I tested download/extract too, also will attach

https://nofile.io/f/DZSgWNweWcz/p6t7-ws-sc-asus-1001-mod-2018-ucodes.zip

Code:
Flash using afudos.exe /ifilename (no space between lower case i and filename)
so afudos.exe /iP6T7-WS-SC-ASUS-1001M.ROM
If you don't want to use modified BIOS, latest version from Asus is here w/ 2009/2010 microcodes

What is the issue? OK, I see now, had to wait 1/2 hour download :D

Does board still work OK with old CPU now, but not new Xeon's. If so, still same problem, then may be some missing hardware (resistor or traces connecting something) that's stopping these from working properly on your board like they do on other models.

Are you 100% certain the Xeon CPU's are all in working order? I see this combo is compatible - https://valid.x86.fr/bzf1ul - but they may have modified the board too, hard to know for sure without finding older posts where this was initially discussed.

Do you have a PCI Debug card, you can get the last debug code it gives before restarting?

On the CPU validation link I see older microcode, which is to be expected since it was made a while back. We shouldn't need for this, but maybe it's possible the newer one doesn't work on all boards?
@hbryan I will make another BIOS with 2015 microcodes instead, Rev 1D microcode for 206C2 and Rev 1B for 106A5 - I know those work for sure, have personally used on many other X58 boards.
If that still fails I will put Rev 14 for 206C2 (dated 2011) for you, same as CPU-z validation.

BIOS w/ 2015 106A5 and 206C2 microcodes is now attached, and here is a link too for anyone looking not a member or in case attachment download issues later
