Here is a link to a review of the Palit Sonic 460 that may answer some of your questions. In general the card looks to be a solid one, it's cooler isn't the most effective or the quietest but it does it's job and the card even has VRM heatsinks which is a big plus. At $120 and coming with a factory OC of 800MHz I'd say that it's a pretty good deal. As far as the brand, it's true that Palit isn't usually held in the same high esteem that MSI EVGA or ASUS are but I haven't seen anything that would make me shy away from buying one of there cards, especially at teh price you have available.
