PC Power & Cooling 420 Just died

I bought the thing yesterday. It's PC Power & Cooling Silencer 420w. My friend was sleeping over, he said he heard a loud noise and the hole computer turned off than he smelt burning plastic.

When I woke up I switched the PSU on. Asus logo lighted up on the motherboard but when I turned it on nothing worked

Ouch. Do you still have your old PSU so you can check if it took out anything else?
Hmmmm... check the mobo with another PSU. Hopefully, your mobo/memory didn't fry either.

I'm on my old PSU right now. I wanted to get a new psu because my old was the fan is starting to go.

I guess 420w isn't enough. My 450w works fine, infact my processor is at 3.740ghz and my GPU is overclocked, all running from the 450 FSP forton. When I was running the 420w, my processor was only 3.33ghz & my GPU was stock speeds

Even if 420W wasn't enough it should not have fried if 450w is. You just got a bad one that happened to make it through testing. It happens occasionally, that's why they come with a warranty.
Wow that must suck big time. I think you most likely just got a bad one. You might need to go up to 450w again though if possible.
rma it...get a different model..PC P& C is a good company..everyone has a bad one now and then....
