Hello, I've had this problem for over a year now, my PC would randomly shut down 1-3 times a day, it was annoying but I lived with it. Now it's happening more and more often and I keep losing competitive matches (Makes me super angry). I don't know why it's happening, at first glance it seems like a PSU problem but I'm not sure if it is, I replaced my PSU around 4 months ago and it's still happening, I have a feeling it's the 24pin connector from PSU to motherboard causing bad touch. Anyone can help my situation?

Some details about your hardware would be somewhat helpful and details about how and when shuts down happens

Hmm it could be any number of reasons. If it's happening while gaming it could be temperature related, are you monitoring your temps at all?

The 24pin seems unlikely, you can pull it out and reseat it a couple of times and if you are still not convinced try some spray contact cleaner (WD40 do a good one,WD-40 Specialist Contact Cleaner) but I'd be surprised if that was the problem.

If you leave the PC on just idling does it shutdown then or only while it's under load?

My Hardware, i5 6600k overclocked @ 4.6ghz, Gigabyte Z170-ud3-x, GTX 1050ti,Corsair 550w PSU. It happens randomly, either when gaming or browsing the internet, I don't think it's temp related I have a corsair h110i v2 watercooler, temps are usually below 65c.

Please name the model of the PSU and not just the brand and wattage
If its a Corsair VS550 then thats probably the problem as the VS series are not very good to say the least

Yes, it's the VS. But how could it be happening again after switching PSU?

Personally i will not change the PSU again, if you have the same problem with two decent quality psu is very unlikely that this component is causing the problem
>Check the event viewer on windows
>Disconnect the case front panel and check if the problem still happen
>Take the motherboard out of the case and examine the socket if is some pin is bend, also look for a bad component or a trace damaged, if everything is okey test the system out of the case

I have the Corsair VS650, and it was doing shutdowns as well, but only when mining at full power. It has low OTP limit, and if the PSU starts overheating, it will shutdown.

Also, i highly doubt, even an overclocked i5 6600k to be able to load it past 80% with 1050 Ti. Just reset the BIOS to default, and try gaming again. Also, be sure, that something is not short circuiting.

I reset my 1050ti to stock overclock and it's better atm, but how could it work fine when running intelburntest and randomly shut down when using random programs?
