Deus Ex: Human Revolution Preview

The devil is in the nerdy details, and the third Deus Ex game is starting to nail them down. We already knew it looked good. We already knew it appeared faithful to the talk/sneak/hack/shoot methodology of the unrivalled original. But there's an extra dysfunctional pleasure to knowing how many augmentations there are, how many ways you can upgrade them, how the inventory system works, how you get level-up points, what happens when you combine items, and what you can do when you hack security terminals.

I can't wait.
Even if it's just for the CG cutscenes and story, I'll buy this game.

Somewhere in the US, Bobby Kotick is reading this while twirling his evil man mustache.

Meh - I just don't think alot of games don't get enough credit where deserved. Everyone keeps crying out for new-new-new (as in gameplay and stuff) and everyone has to be a critic when it doesn't always have to be that way. Games are supposed to be interesting, fun, and gripping. And I think people have lost that, they only care about graphics and gameplay mechanics lately.

This game seems to have an excellent story and the CG cutscenes, not just graphically, are visually (cinematically) amazing.
To boot, I do think from what we've seen the gameplay is pretty sweet. So are the graphics overall. But yet I see alot of people still harping on them.

I finished playing James Bond Blood Stone the other day. The game was repetitive, unoriginal, and more of less a copy-cat of every 3rd person shooter to date. The graphics, animation, and acting were piss poor to boot.
But - I still had fun playing it and it kept me entertained for more then an adequate amount of time. Had I bought the game for the full $50-60, I'd be satisfied enough. People are too harsh on games lately in my opinion especially ones that haven't even come out.

Different people want different things from games.

To me, Deus ex is about the story, the open world approach to every scenario, the actions you perform having an effect on the world and seeing repercussions for your actions.

If deus ex 3 has a great story, but is very liniear and lacks multiple ways of solving situations and having your actions cause other events to happen. It will be a failure in my eyes.

Everything i have seen makes me think this should be Ghost in the Shell game. Which would be friggin fantastic, but nothing released about it gives me any belief its a real deus ex game.

Hell the original game has some many variables that happen, and you dont even know about it your first time, everything works so smoothly that you dont realize that you are actually making a choice, until its all said and done. to many games anymore simply announce the choice with big flags and horns blaring, and say pick. Like Mass effect 2. At every turn the game is telling you do the loyalty missions and upgrade your ship or people will die and you will fail the mission. I would classify mass effect 2 as an epic game if it had not been for their hand holding you at every step, and basically blowing what could have been epic sequences and events that will stick with you long after the game is done. Something That deus ex did extremely well.

I cant watch this video at work, so i cannot comment about it yet.

I have high hopes for the game, but its one i am not very optimistic about.
