Hello OCN! I have a quick question that i just couldn't get answered on Google.
What are the advantages of overclocking the PCI-E 2.0 Bus? What are the risks? Will i get higher framerates?

All i know is data will enter the GPU or northbridge faster.. (From what i guessed)

Thanks!

With the pci express 2.0 bus you are basically doubling the data transfer rate from from the previous 1.x bus. The bus speed itself (100MHz) does not actually change, just the amount of data carried across the bus in each lane.

Sorry... misread the question. DJZeratul is absolutely correct. Overclocking the standard 100MHz pcie could end up causing permanent damage to your system. The reason you couldnt find much on the subject is because there is no real point in doing it, due to the damage it could cause.

Ups the data rate, but with PCI-E 2.0, there's no point, a few mhz will kill something.
