Pci-e/pci-e 2.0?

Now I bought the GTX 260 PCI-E and recently realised there is a GTX 260 PCI-E 2.0 from the same site. Now is there much, if any difference and between them and are they both compatible with my MB as in the spec's it reads that it supports PCI-E 2.0? It all arrives this week, and getting a litle paranoid as it is my first build

Also, I read in another post that my MB does infact support SLI? But I was under the impression it only supports crossfire. Can someone please confirm either way as I have a 8600 GTX sitting around and was wondering if I could put it to use in my system?

Link to thread stating P45 MB's can run SLI:

Sorry if these are really lame questions, but I wanna make sure my first build is perfect.

it's just the way they name it, some say it, some don't
They are both PCI-e 2.0, the one just doesn't say it in the ad for whatever reason.

Intel chipsets don't support SLI unless you have an X58 motherboard. Your board can support Crossfire though.

both support pcie 2.0. nevertheless, you won't even notice any difference if you run them at a pcie 1.1 slot. so no worries.
I think that 99% of all cards made now are PCI-E 2.0 but they are all backwards compatible.
Appreciated guys

As for the SLI, would the 8600 GTS running in SLI w/GTX 260 really have made that much difference? I would perhaps consider a different MB (P7N) if I would infact benefit from the extra GPU.

Cheers. Is there anything at all I can do with the 8600? PhysX or something? I see numerous people with 2 cards in their sig that are different and that is what raised my curiousity you see.

I'm getting there guys, bare with me lol.

So on this MB, I can deffo use a second nVidia card for PhysX? I'll have search for how to do it if that is the case, but feel free to post a link that to a concise post on "how to".

Think once my rig has landed I'll be getting quite addicted to learning and "tweaking" the thing. It's not even here yet and already I am curious as to what I can do with it!!

there is no such thing as a pci-e 1.1 GTX260. All nvidia cards since the 8800GT have been pci-e 2.0.

yeah u could use a card for physX, for sure!

Excellent! Will my 610w PSU be able to handle the extra 8600 GTS? And it wont in anyway decrease performance will it as it's pci-1.1?
