PCI Physics Cards

Has anyone had any experience with the Asus PhysX P1 listed here?:

http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?mo...19&l2=102&l3=0

I've read some reviews and it looks like only a select few games would actually use this, and it probably wouldn't do much else but suck up 23w of power idling in my PC. Am I wrong?

I'm trying to think of anything at all useful I could get to fill up my PCI slots and I'm at a loss. I've got a SB Audigy sound card and that's it.. Onboard LAN etc... So from the way it looks, my 2 extra PCI slots are just dust magnets. Not much out there in the way of weird/strange/odd components to fill these up with eh?

Dont waste your money on the PhysX card. Not that many games support PhysX anyway. Games that support PhysX are not that good IMO.
Why would you want to waste your money on PCI cards? Upgrade your rig instead.
You have a GeForce 9 series card, with the new drivers PhysX is done on your GPU. Not the same, but it's there incase someday someone will use it.

I don't think it's worth it though.

Physx cards are a complete waste of money nowadays... with the Physx drivers that came out, and so few games that actually use Physx, there will be virtually no performance increase...

There really is no use to try and fill up your PCI slots... whats the point? if you want, just get these and cover them up:

I'm a nerd at heart and I hate seeing open expansion slots in a machine

Just... don't do it... its pointless... upgrade your sound card, or maybe add a PCI slot fan, but you don't need to fill up all your slots

What I was getting at was... Some motherboards come with 5 pci slots. 5... what could you possibly do with 5? Sound card, lan card, raid controller, erm.. ... tv tuner card(?).. err.. modem I suppose. Most of this comes onboard anyway and I still see mobos with lots of pci. I was on ebay looking through things and saw some weird pci slot items like card read/write things for motel door keycards and PCI radio tuners. (told ya I'm a nerd eh?). Some of thsi looked cool but yeah, none of it was worth the time really. Then I saw these physx cards.

Thanks for the almost instant response people!

dont waist your money, get a 8800GS or 9600GSO

I still have one of these cards and it does a good job for the games that support it, but really its a waste today... Just buy a cheap 8600 or higher nvidia card.
You don't need a PCI PhysX card, or PhysX card in general , when you have a 9500GT that supports Geforce PhySX. Save the money and buy some coolers or something else.
I have 4 PCI slots, i have a PCI 2.0 USB HighSpeed Card in one, and a BFG 6200 Geforce in the other, 2 are free. But they are not collecting dust, because i clean out my computer every 6 months or a year.
Dont get the pci card I have the 9800gx2 so with when a game like gears of war physx supported comes along my card automatically switches 1 gpu to physx and 1 for normal use Its good fro me because of my crappy cpu i get huge fps boost from physx to bad very few games support it.
