This is an analog-only tuner. After February 17, 2009, it will no longer work for over-the-air TV without a digital converter box. However, it will work and continue to work fine with cable or satellite input.

If your current television is not digital, it will work the same way as an analog tv, requiring the box.

BTW, does Canada have a date for digital broadcasting to be required?

Your digital cable box converts a digital signal to analogue which the tuner card accepts.

Trust me, its not worth it. And I payed twice as much. Unless you consider the ability to turn on your computer with a remote is worth $15 + shipping...

there getting ride of them because of february 17, 2009, to receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna because of the Nation's transition to digital broadcasting. this tunnel wont due digital unless box.

I had an older model of that card. It was basically good at watching TV and sucked at recording. Mine came with a rebate but I can't remember if I got the money back.
