Phenom II 940 RMA No Box?

788 Views 10 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Riskitall84
Hey
Ok i have a Phenom II 940BE that i bought from a friend who managed to bend quite a few of the pins somehow.......

I bought the cpu and bent the pins back (after several hours) and it has been working ever since

I am now thinking of selling the cpu since i am overly paranoid of it braking and i dont have a box only receipt

Can i perform a rma with just a receipt if anything does go wrong or do i need the box?

Thnx

if the pins were bent on your or your friends part, then its not a manufacturers error is it ? therefor an rma would be object to product inspection from amd if they rma it or not

Im on about if something does go wrong with the cpu like it fails or something and i dont feel comftorable with out the box?
Having the box is like life insurance with pc parts

Im just overly paranoid if something does brake can i return it with the receipt but no box?

Christ this is a gong show. How can you boobs be so dumb as to not know you RMA a processor to either Intel or AMD (or VIA with rare exceptions), if the retailer no longer warrants the product.

Look, read this.

Now can we dispense with the dumb questions?

They are not dumb questions!

The OP is in the UK and our RMA processes are different.

If the CPU was originally bought under 1 year ago from Ebuyer for example then they would accept a return with no box! See where im going with this?

In the UK most of the time we RMA back to the Etailer as they cover the Manu. warrenty.
