If you would like to learn do some of the following. Familiarize yourself with the following: Tools (Move Tool, Marquee Tool, Magic Wand Tool etc...), Layers, Filters, History, Paths, Levels, Channels. Just google any one of the topics and you will find tons of material to read. A great way to learn these things is also just by doing random tutorials. Then its simply a matter of applying that knowledge to the task at hand. There are many more facets to photoshop, and I will probably never learn them all, but what I do know already in itself is very powerful.
