As the title says i am planning to do some mods on my mobo but have some questions about doing it and parts that may or may not work and that is where i need the input. I am planing to do the electrolytic capacitor, Vchip (vdd), and the vcore stabilization. I can get my hands on a 2200uf and/or 3300uf 10v or 16v capasitor from a old computer that is in the dumpster at work or off some old dead mobos at college, they recomend and use a 6.3v capasitor in the mod guide, is there a problem with me using one with a higher voltage rating? As for the vchip a resistor is easy enought to come by so no probems there on tracking the correct one down at the local radio shack or old and dead pc or psu at school. As for the vcore and caps going back to the caps i can get a hold of will they work and could/will there be probems with there higher rated voltage of 10v or 16v when the mod talks about 6.3v caps.

Don't do that vdroop mod, I know of an easier one that will work just as well, if not better, plus it is adjustable. If you don't mind waiting till Monday or Tuesday I will post up some pics and a guide.

Here is the guide that I followed, and I will post up some pics in a couple days.

Update: tryed doing the mods i had originally planned tonight being nb stabalization, vdd, vcore both the lab link, lando's link and vcore doop mod i have a link to. I do have all the necessary tools to do the mods; 15w pencil tip sodering iron, 0.032" dia rosin-core solder, and of course the pieces to do the mods but the solder doent stick to the points i am soldering i spent a few hrs trying on a single mod and it just didnt hold so i gave up. Vcore droop that i was worried about is not there according to software, mbm5, speed fan , etc. Bios vcore setting 1.56v actual from test point at idle 1.56v steady, full load ht enabled 1.54v steady.
