While I understand the idea of "on-glass" semiconductor de-multiplexers used in active TFT (LCD) displays to reduce the number of connections from the display glass to the external electronics, I am still a bit puzzled about Plasma Displays.
A HD Plasma Display would need 1920 X 3 = 5760 Columns and 1080 X 3 = 3240 Rows
However, when I look at a Plasma Panel, the Flat Flexi Connectors do not seem to carry anything like the amount of conductors required and anyway, the voltage levels involved (170 or so) would not really allow microspacing.
It seems some sort of internal demultiplexing must be going on surely?
Can anybody explain this, or point me to a good article about this?
