Player Manuals

224 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Sacre
I'm noticing that more and more, games are coming with little to no player manuals. I was wondering if anyone new a site with various manuals on them (preferably ones with Unreal Tournament manuals)

Thanx!

Yeah, I miss the old days when every game came with a heft book. Not a piece of paper folded over a few times, but a real book. With a binding. And it was worth reading if you really wanted to get into the game.

Now it's all in PDFs... or a 5 minute tutorial in game... give me a real book any day.

Yeah, but it's for a dynamic online game. For MMOs, the original manual is laughable most of the time after a year because of changes that are implemented for balance or content issues.

I think that getting us used to 'no manuals' is a way to get us used to digital distribution. Not that it's a bad thing, but I'd still pay an extra $5 for a nice decently sized manual shipped to me.

Worst "manual" ever was X2. Damn thing killed my printer cartridge when I printed it out.

I don't printing a manual now and then, but don't make it heavy with dark graphics that waste all my ink.

They do, but they charge like 25$ in the game store.
