Gigabyte K8n-SLI. BIOS F7(Lastest)
AMD 64 3000+ Venice. Stepping DH-E6.
Current setting:
FSB=212
Memory ratio= 2/166 ( Already underclocking the ram)
HTT=3x
CPU Voltage=1.4V
Mem Voltage= 2.6V
All Spread Spectrum: Disabled.
Auto Detect PCI CLK: Diasbled.
I couldn't push it any farther. Not even by 1mhz or 213mhz.
Even if i increase the VCORE to 1.5 it wouldn't go @ 213mhz.

Thru Windows i can clock it to 2.2Gh using the easytune all @ default
voltage. Tested stable.
Anyone have any idea what is wrong or has overcome this weird problem.
Pls enlighten me. Tks alot.

With any system you need to manually control the BIOS and hence then be in control of your OC.

You will need to know what each of the key components can do - MB, CPU and Mem and then max out each - CPU Speed being No.1

Work through your BIOS and get familiar with its features and run through the FAQ in my sig - Find the Max

Gigabyte K8n-SLI. BIOS F7(Lastest)
AMD 64 3000+ Venice. Stepping DH-E6.
Current setting:
FSB=215
Memory ratio= 333
HTT=4x
CPU Voltage=1.45V
Mem Voltage= 2.6V
All Spread Spectrum: Disabled.
Auto Detect PCI CLK: Diasbled.

What do these settings do for you. I have seen Gigabyte K8n's shudder on certain HT's so you might have to play with it. For example, you get a fail on 212 but not on 215.
