I just searched it up and do not overclock with that board, it is a 2 power design VRM.

You will break it.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I looked at the board as well. Overclocking on that board is a bad idea due to the vrm design on it. That Q9400 you have is likely capable of 3.6ghz or better on the right board, but it's not going to happen on the one you currently own. If you can find a good deal on a P45 board such as the one in my sig, you could hit that kind of OC and better.

You would have to shop around a bit, but for a good p45 board, I would say around 100-150 US. Thing is they are getting harder and harder to find so the price is going up on them. The board I have is regarded as one of the best 775 boards, which I gave around 130 retail. On ebay, used boards go for more than what I paid when it was new.
