Alright, I'm in the process of making an Apache server I'm running available on the net.
Router: 192.168.1.1
Computer: 192.168.1.3
I registered a free hostname at dyndns.com and I'm running the Apache server successfully, temporarily on port 8080 (accessible at 127.0.0.1:8080, 192.168.1.3:8080).
When I enter that hostname in a browser it takes me to the router's configuration page (tried accessing from remote computers too) and when I add :8080 at the end nothing happens (Page not found - unknown error).
that's normal for it to go to your router, as your ecetially looking up your own IP address. to prove this try typing you external IP address into your browser.

ask a friend to look at your website.
Tried that with a computer in my city and another one in Sweden.
