According to AppleInsider, HP will be announcing the fate of webOS sometime this week.

HP is rumored to have finished the initial bidding process for its webOS unit and will hold an all-hands meeting tomorrow that may reveal its future plans for selling or spinning off the group, according to people familiar with the company's plans.

Personally I was a big fan of WebOS since palm first announced it. I really hope someone like Amazon or Samsung buys it, it is a very good OS.

I was definitely a fan of the OS as well, and was disappointed to see that HP really couldn't do much with it. Hopefully another company can.
