Nope the same way you placed the 6870, just add a crossfire bridge and activate through settings, its your choice 5xxx and above.

I believe that is a 6850 linked, so yes you could. The cards must use the same GPU , in this case Barts. Generally speaking the cards that will crossfire have the same series #, i.e. 68xx. 67xx. In the past couple of years (after ATIs acquisition by AMD) the naming convention of AMD/ATI cards has been messed up. For instance, the 6790 card I now have is actually a Barts GPU so it is actually a 68xx, not a 67xx series GPU, and can crossfire with the 68xx cards. When you Crossfire two different cards, you will get the performance of the slower card, i.e. if you crossfire a 6850 with your 6870 it will be like Crossfiring two 6850s, not two 6870s.

If crossfired with the same gpu it will be twice the power it all depends on scaling really.

You said you were wanting to go a little cheaper... have you checked the Open Box section at newegg? Right at about 7PM Central every night they update it, but they go fast... have bought two Asus 6870's for 114.99 a piece....

Yes, it will boost your gaming. The 6800s scale around 90%(there are a lot of things affecting this), meaning that if you were experiencing 30 fps with one 6870, you should see around 54 fps with two Crossfired. The graph below shows game performance of single and multiple 6850s, the 6870s will score a bit highter. I like the 6790 Crossfire numbers, they scale at over 90%, as you can see they gain quite a bit when compared with single/crossfired 6850s, and I picked up my first 6790 for $89 last weekend, will get another in a month or two.
