how much will the price of the 256/512 7800gtx's drop by when the 7900's come out?

I'm not exactly sure, but you should expect a $40 drop.

The 7800's are being pulled off the shelves, and the 7900's are supposed to be close to the same price as 7800's now.

I don't think you'll see any 512's even being produced. They were simply a product released to keep Nvidia in the benchmarks game. As far as how far prices will drop, I'd assume you'll see the 7800gtx 256 settle at around $300 and be the new "budget" oriented card. ATI plans to phase out the 1800 series altogether, so the 7800gtx would fit nicely in the upper midlevel performance category.

7800GT's - gone

The 7800GTX's are going to be relabled as 7900GT's and probably keep the price they are at $400 or so

GTX's $500

GTX 512's - $600+

All these are guesstimates
