well my dad keeps getting on me becaus "he cant pring" prbly becaus hes got the wrong printer selected, but somtimes im off at a lan party so my computer and main server are with me. so ive decided to put a pI system that iv got in my oon and ill be installing it in the milk crate that my lazer printer sits on. all it will have is power, netowrk, and printer. the installation shouldent be difficult but i do have a couple of hardware/os questions. 1.) should i bother with usb or should i just stil to paralel? rember that im trying to keep this system to a minimal. 2.) is there a small footprint printserver os that any of you would recomend, or shoud i stick with gentoo minimal? if i go with gentoo im going to have to get ahold of another NIC becaus theres no gentoo kernal module that will work with the only NIC that i have lying around (M$ dosnt like to play nice )

I would just get a NIC that works with Gentoo. They are dirt cheap now and days. I bet you can get one at OfficeMax or online for about 10 bucks shipping included. Just go with what works.

Also, spellcheck your posts before posting please. It took a while to read that post....
