Problem with 6600GT

Hi,

I recently had problem starting up my computer. The computer won't turn on. After testing and searching, I located the problem orginated from my video card. Once I plug in the power supply adapter the computer won't start, however if I unplug the adapter the computer start. Currently I'm using a Geforce 2MX and the computer works fine.

Does anyone know what could be the problem and how could I fix it??

My Computer Spec:
Video Card-BFG 6600GT AGP (not overclocked)
CPU-AMDXP 2500 Mobile (166*10)
Motherboard-ASUS A7V880
Ram-OCZ Premier Dual Channel 256mbx2
Video Card Driver-66.97
O/S-Window Xp SP2
Power Supply-Ultra-X Connect 500W

Power supply adapter? Do you have it on a rail by its self? I did that and mine started working a lot better.

Thats what I meant a seperate line from the power supply. So when it is not plugged in the computer will start fine though. When it boots does it give you an error saying the card does not have enough power?
