As a nu-bee to overclocking and this being the first discussion I have ever joined, I hope to accomplish resolving a problem that I have been racking my head against for the past 2 weeks.

I have a Laptop Presario 2500 and It will without notice shut itself off as if the power had been lost. I checked my power settings and changed the properties of my screensaver. I have narrowed the problem down to a hardware error. However I do not have any confirmation this is in fact the problem. I downloaded a stress test (Prime95). Sometimes my system will be stable for 12-18 hrs, but when I run the test it shuts down after about 30 min.

I was hoping to isolate the instance of how and why this happens. I’m also trying to get my bearings to best structure my plan of attack. When signing up for Overclock there were several questions regarding my system of which I do not know the procedure for obtaining. At this early stage any input would he helpful……wp……….

Is this problem occuring when the computer system is operating at its default frequencies?
If this is indeed the case and the laptop is not operating stable then I would recommend taking the laptop back to its manufacturer.

Can I have some more information on the problem please?
Also have you tampered with the hardware inside of it?
