Have you tried using it on a newer machine with a PATA to USB bridge? Should prevent it from locking up at start anyway.
Problem....
I have an old 300gb IDE drive that crapped out on me awhile back. I'm trying to recover the data, but I have run into a few problems. When I slave it the computer will not boot up. Get to windows load screen and loops. I tried to power it up with the computer already on, but no luck. My windows 7 computer died a few days ago so I'm trying to do this on an older machine running XP. Any help would be appreciated.
