hi there.
i have problems installing my i7 920 on my motherboard.

on the image you can see that the load plate doesn't go all the way down to its original position after I placed the processor into the socket.

I tried pushing down the load lever but there is too much resistance and I'm afraid I will break something if I put more force on it.

this is what it looks like without the processor in the socket:

okay I just found somebody with the same problem over at

and those people recommend just closing the lever, but the thing is as soon as I attempt to close the lever I can hear a crunching noise from within the socket
is that normal?

Yeah, I had that resistance also. I just pushed it down and it works. Just make sure the cpu is properly aligned in the socket.
